Saw a sketchy looking dude selling a fork on WBB this morning. I asked him what happened, and he showed me a picture of a gruesomely mangled bike. The head tube was cracked completely open and he popped the fork out as is.
I told him it was a very nice fork, but I was concerned it “might have structural issues.”
One of the main themes of this blog is cycling debauchery, and last night was one the years highlights. Transportation Alternatives, our advocate for SUVs, Yachts and Private Jets held its yearly holiday party at housing works bookstore.

Afterwards we had a ride over to the levee. the group was more than half surly’s. about half long haul truckers and half crosschecks. no steamrollers to be found.
The levee is no fun when its crowded, but this thursday night was perfect. not too loud, and full of great new people. my walk home was really nice.
